If you are interested in adopting a pug from Pug Rescue of Korea, we would love to know more about you.

Please fill out our application below.

HOW TO ADOPT A PUG FROM SOUTH KOREA

As an all volunteer organization, we do not have a physical facility and rely on our network of fosters in both South Korea and California to temporarily home our pugs until a permanent one can be found. As of 2021, our adoption fees are $700 USD 10 months and under, $600 1-2 years, $500 3-5 years, $350 6 years +. 100% of your tax deductible adoption fee goes towards the rescue and rehabilitation of our pugs.

1. SUBMIT APPLICATION:

If you would like to adopt a pug through Pug Rescue of Korea, please fill out our digital application below using the red button "Adoption Application." As a show of good faith, we are requesting a donation of $10 for our volunteers to review your application.

2. APPLICATION REVIEW:
All applications are carefully reviewed to mach with you with a pug that best fits your home environment and lifestyle.

3. MEET-N-GREET:
If the pug you are interested in is being fostered in an area near where you live, a meet-n-greet with your desired pug will be arranged outdoors or at a local dog park. For the safety of everyone, please wear a mask and adhere to social distancing practices.

4. HOME CHECK:

Due to Covid, all  home checks will now be requested via video or photos.

5. FINAL ADOPTION:

Once your application has been approved, we require a 50% deposit to hold your pug. You will then be required to initial and sign our adoption agreement. Final payment is due on the day of adoption.

OUR 5-STEP ADOPTION PROCESS:

The adoption process at PRK is (1) the application submission, (2) the application review, (3) the meet-n-greet with your desired pug (local adoptions only), (4) a home check (due to Covid, home checks will be requested via video or photos), and (5) the final adoption. Available pugs are listed on our Instagram (Adopt Me! button) and Facebook pages as soon as they are ready for adoption. Please remember that you are applying for a dog that has been rescued, relinquished, or found as a stray in South Korea. While every effort has been made to treat any medical issues discovered by a vet or foster, we cannot guarantee future illnesses or life expectancy. Visit our FAQ page for more info. All pugs are adopted as-is and we cannot guarantee their future health or life expectancy.

CALIFORNIA / U.S. ADOPTIONS

  • Once approved, a 50% deposit is required to hold the pug and confirm your international adoption.

  • You will need to be available between M-F to meet our team member and pickup the pug at Los Angeles International Airport (or your local International US airport). The complicated and timely process of preparing pugs for international travel means that if you are unable to arrange pickup during these hours, unfortunately we will not be able to send the pug.

  • All U.S. adoption fees include:

- An examination by a veterinarian in Korea
- Spayed or neutered dog from the Republic of South Korea
- Health vaccination certificate (signed by Korean vet) showing proof of vaccinations for rabies and DHPPL
- Microchip (please register chip in your name once adoption has been finalized)
- Leash and harness
- Cargo-approved travel crate for international flight. (Please make accommodations to take the crate with you as we do not have storage to keep extra items).
- Any necessary medication

Due to the financial investment incurred in transporting the pugs internationally, we are unable to give refunds. Please make sure you are as committed to this process as we are.

If you are unable to find a pug through our organization, we encourage you to visit Pug Nation LA or schedule an appointment to view available pugs (Carson, CA).

OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS:

While we do accommodate out-of-state adoptions, we require all adopters come directly to Los Angeles to finalize the adoption. The process is slightly different since a meet-n-greet of the pug is not available and the home check is done through photographs or video. A 50% deposit is required to hold the pug, with the balance due on the day of arrival. The pug must then be picked up within 7 days of their landing in the U.S.A. Should additional time be needed, a $100 surcharge will be added on for each extra week. (We do not have a physical rescue facility and will need to find a potential foster to care for your pug until they can be safely picked up). Our preference is for the pug to be picked up as quickly as possible to avoid any attachment and/or transition issues. If you require transportation assistance while in Los Angeles, we suggest Uber or taxi services which are available at the airport.

As of November 25, 2020, travelers arriving to Los Angeles by airplane or train will have to sign a form acknowledging California's recommendation of a 10-day self-quarantine to help stop the spread of COVID 19. If you are over the age of 16 and arriving from another state or country, you must submit the form online prior to or upon arrival at Los Angeles International Airport, Van Nuys Airport or Union Station.
