If you are interested in adopting a pug from Pug Rescue of Korea, we would love to know more about you. Please send us an email or fill out our application below for available pugs.
Adopt A PUG
Due to the airlines’ summer embargoes on flying snub-nosed dogs, we are pausing all U.S. and Canadian adoptions until September. If you are still interested in adopting one of our awesome pugs, please submit an application so we have it on file. We will begin reviewing applications again in August. If you currently live in South Korea, these adoptions remain active.
If you would like to adopt a pug through Pug Rescue of Korea, please fill out our digital application below using the red button "Adoption Application." As a show of good faith, we are requesting a donation of $10 for our volunteers to review your application. The process at PRK is the application submission, application review, meet and greet with your desired pug (local adoptions only), a home check, and then the final adoption. Available pugs are listed on our Facebook page as soon as they are ready for adoption.
We do not have a physical facility and rely on our network of fosters in both South Korea and Los Angeles to temporarily home our pugs until a permanent one can be found.
If you are adopting a pug directly from South Korea (you found an available pug on our Facebook page that interests you), you will need to submit an application for review. Once approved, a 50% deposit of the adoption fee is required as a show of good faith. If you live in the Los Angeles area, you will also need to be available between M-F to pickup the pug at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The complicated and timely process of preparing pugs for international travel means that if you are unable to arrange pickup during these hours, unfortunately we will not be able to send the pug. In the rare event that this adoption does not work out, please contact us immediately to arrange a drop-off of the pug. Due to the financial investment incurred in transporting the pugs internationally, we are unable to give refunds. Please make sure you are as committed to this process as we are.
For additional questions, please see our FAQ page.
If you are unable to find a pug through our organization, we encourage you to visit Pug Nation LA or schedule an appointment to view available pugs (Gardena, CA). If you live in the San Diego area, please visit our friends at Pug Rescue of San Diego.
All pugs are adopted as-is and we cannot guarantee their future health or life expectancy.
OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS:
While we do accommodate out-of-state adoptions, we require all adopters come directly to Los Angeles to finalize the adoption. The process is slightly different since a meet-n-greet of the pug is not available and the home check is done through photographs or video. A 50% deposit is required to hold the pug, with the balance due on the day of arrival. The pug must then be picked up within 7 days of their landing in the U.S.A. Should additional time be needed, a $100 surcharge will be added on for each extra week. (We do not have a physical rescue facility and will need to find a potential foster to care for your pug until they can be safely picked up). Our preference is for the pug to be picked up as quickly as possible to avoid any attachment and/or transition issues. If you require transportation assistance while in Los Angeles, we suggest Uber or taxi services which are available at the airport.
2019 ADOPTION FEES*
*Due to the amount of time, effort and financial investment we put into finding forever homes for our pugs, we are unable to give refunds at this time. Once the adoption has been processed, all adoption fees are non-refundable.
